"Beatrix" Renaissance Girl's Court Kirtle and Surcoat
The one pictured is available for sale, however this can be MADE TO ORDER. The pricing is based on time and cost of materials; if more expensive fabric is desired, the cost will necessarily rise.
Time for completion is 3-4weeks (once all decisions and materials are gathered).
The "Beatrix" is a wonderfully comfortable gown for a child-- no corset or boning!
The kirtle (under dress) has removable undersleeves (the one pictured is made from a polyester fabric). The fancy fabric runs the whole of the font and around the band at the bottom and is used for the removable sleeves; cotton broadcloth is used in the back. It laces in the back, spiral lacing style. The kirtle is left unlined to help keep the heat factor down.
The surcoat is made of a beautiful fabric and is shorter than the kirtle to allow the kirtle hem to show. It lays open until about breast height where it can be closed with hidden hook and eye. It is fully lined and sports a puffy half sleeve.

The ready made surcoat is UPCYCLED from a set of velvet curtains. The surcoat is made from cotton velvet and is fully lined in cotton broadcloth. It was designed to fit over a 95" hoop skirt.

neck to floor (back) 52.5"
armhole 13.5"
neck 13.25"
chest/bust 36"
shoulder to shoulder 15.5"
neck to shoulder socket 6.5"
**Chemise is not included. While it was designed for a hoopskirt, it is not shown with one nor is one included in the price.
